For the Donici family life was tough. The main house they used to live in had fallen into disrepair – the mud and straw walls had crumpled and the house was uninhabitable – so the mother father and three children had moved into the large shed on their land.
One bed filled all the floor space- clothes were pie piled in any available space and the outside cooking area was fine in the summer but in the winter temperatures of minus 20 made even going outside difficult.
In 2017 a team from MD was able to restore the home – new walls, floors and doors and a new heater meant the family could move back into their home and start to rebuild their lives.
