Cyclone Idai Appeal

On the day our 1st team of the year in Zimbabwe were leaving, the rain on the edge of Cyclone Idai had begun, yet no one could have estimated the devastation and destruction to come. Everyone the team met during their 2-week trip – and some prior – has been affected by the Cyclone, many losing family and loved ones to the floods. Thankfully, Joshua Dhube School wasn’t badly affected, but the area where our main partner (United Baptist Church of Zimbabwe) is based is central to some of the badly affected areas of Zimbabwe.

New CEO, Wil Horwood, was part of our first volunteer team in Zimbabwe, who left just as the Cyclone hit. Wil is in regular contact with our partners in Zimbabwe and has launched an appeal to support their work on the ground as they begin the recovery. Please join us in prayer for them, and for those in Mozambique and Malawi. With flooding comes risk of disease and communities are struggling to be able to bury their dead, increasing risks and heartache.
