New projects
Posted: 10th May 2019
You heard it here first! From this autumn, Mission Direct will be launching a new campaign in The Gambia, working in a small fishing village in the Tanji area. Many of you will remember Linda Lauermann, who many years ago had supported MD as country staff in a number of countries including Kenya, Sierra Leone, and Uganda. Linda and her husband Daniel moved to The Gambia in 2018 to work for House of Skills (HOS) the Tanji area, supported by the ECG – Evangelical Church of God, which has 11 churches throughout the country. Earlier this year, our team visited Linda, Daniel and the team to discuss potential partnership and a viable project and we’re thrilled that HOS became a new partner in a new location for Mission Direct! The first, pilot team will depart in November of this year. We’ll be helping to build male and female dormitories for the students of HOS who currently have to stay in unsafe, unsecure accommodate offsite, where girls are threatened with violence and Christian-converts are vulnerable to persecution. You can read more about the project and view team dates on the country page. Join the first team to be a part of the very first MD experience in this beautiful country!
