When we first launched our ABC+D Campaign we expected to need to raise £50,000 to help us through a challenging time. Amazingly, we have raised £45,000 so far, so we are really grateful to our generous supporters and friends. Unfortunately, we now realise we might need a further £30,000 to secure things for the rest of the year while we continue to take other measures like using the government’s job retention scheme. Having recently taken the decision to cancel any remaining teams that were scheduled in the Autumn, this has had the effect on income that would have been generated in those months. Now, more than ever, your support will make a difference to help us to continue to serve some of the poorest children and communities around the world.
Mission Direct has provided support to schools in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and South America for over 15 years. We have built numerous classrooms and toilet blocks, installed and maintained computers, provided teacher training and supported feeding programmes that enable poorer children to attend school. Thousands of children benefit every year from these initiatives and are able to learn so much more than just their ABC’s, so that they can build a more prosperous future for themselves and their families.
We urgently need your help so that we can continue to support them. We recognise that most of us can’t afford to visit these countries to touch lives personally, but most of us still want to help in some way.
This is why we have set up our ABC+D Appeal. For a modest £5 a month, the cost of A Big Coffee + Danish, we can collectively make a massive difference. If you can’t commit to a monthly donation, please still consider making a one-off gift.
For those of us who love a natter with friends over a coffee, we would also like to encourage you to set up virtual coffee mornings to raise funds for the ABC+D Appeal. For more information about this, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you and God bless.
