Malawi

Giving the gift of education

In a small, isolated village near Lake Malawi children have an 8-mile round trip on foot to go to school. Come and help us build this village their very own primary school to give children here access to full-time education without an exhausting journey.

Please note that the trip dates may vary a day either way due to flight availability.

The Projects

Our work in Malawi began in 2010, building a mountainous community’s first ever school. The School officially opened at the end of June 2016 and our campaign came to a close in 2018.

In 2019, we embarked on a new partnership with Starfish Malawi - a Christian organisation who share our vision of education for every child.  In a small village near Salima, there is an isolated community who have little access to employment opportunities and education. Children here previously had an 8-mile round trip on foot - many without sturdy shoes or shoes at all. We've committed to building a new school here for local children to ensure every child has easy access to full-time education - the key to breaking poverty once and for all.

Come and help us continue to build facilities here - no skills necessary as local builders lead the way and there's always a job for everyone - from mixing cement, to painting - and of course, entertaining the children who are so full of joy and excitement to welcome you!

Rest and Relaxation

In addition to a mid weekend visit to the stunning Lake Malawi, the trip ends with a visit to Kuti Wildlife Reserve that will enable you to see a wide range of animals in their natural habitat.

However, we do not recommend any swimming in Lake Malawi because of the risk of Bilharzia disease.
