The Projects

Past volunteers will know and remember Linda Lauermann from many years ago when she helped to run our teams in many countries including; Kenya, Sierra Leone, and Uganda . Continuing her work as a missionary, Linda and her husband Daniel moved to The Gambia in 2018 to work for HOS (House of Skills), located in Tanji - a small fishing village. HOS runs a skills training centre for young adults within and from outside the ECG church.

Currently, students are being housed off-site in local Muslim compounds and are facing security issues; girls are being threatened, their faith is weakening and students that have converted from Islam are vulnerable to persecution.

Last year, one team began work on the project to build new female and male dormitories onsite with HOS which will accommodate all 70 students. This work will continue in 2020.

Important! Please note, anyone with a peanut or fish allergy is not suitable for this trip as we are unable to separate food to accommodate this due to local cooking methods.

Rest and Relaxation

The Gambia is famous for it's beautiful beaches and thriving tourist industry. In the middle of your 2-week trip, you'll spend a couple of days at Abca's Creek Lodge in Kassagne Village to pause and process some of your experience.

The lodge is a nice place to stay for those who would like to experience the traditional way of living and also see the amazing nature of the inlands.
