Cambodia Autumn 2019 Staff Team

On the edge of the contaminated Mekong River Delta in Cambodia there is a small pocket of land, rife with disease and poverty, which ‘houses’ thousands of families. We’ve been supporting Cambodian Pastor Sara Sansy to build somewhere safe for these people to really call home. Cambodia is one of our most popular mission trips amongst volunteers. Come and join our staff team here to help change lives, family by family, in vulnerable communities and work with an inspirational partner. 2019 team dates: Autumn: 26 October - 9 November | 16  - 30 November

Moldova Country Manager

Moldova is the poorest nation in Europe and has suffered mass migration over recent years, damaging the economy even further. Many parents leave the country for better work opportunities, leaving children with grandparents. Many of these young people suffer abuse and neglect, with many (especially) girls becoming vulnerable to sex trafficking and forced prostitution. We've been working in Moldova for many years now, helping to build safe houses for young girls at risk. In 2019, we embark on a new project to refurbish buildings that will be used by disabled children and their families as accommodation during summer camp. These families will stay for about a week, where social workers can observe the families and assess their needs. We're recruiting a new Country Manager to lead on this exciting new project - it's one to make your own! Team dates: 27 July - 10 August | 17 - 31 August with a reccy trip (usually 1 week) in Jan/Feb 2019

Sierra Leone Country Manager

Sierra Leone is Mission Direct's longest-standing mission location, being the first country that the charity took volunteers on mission to. Our work here has been extensive, working in both Freetown and Bureh Bean to help provide safe houses for street children, classrooms and schools, medical facilities, and homes. In 2018, we moved our mission work to Regent Village where a huge mudslide caused widespread devastation in 2017. Partnering with Tebbs Second Chances, we're working to repair classrooms and build new facilities to enable children here to go to school without having to walk for miles.  We're now looking to recruit a new Country Manager for our Sierra Leone campaign - a step you won't regret taking! 2019 team dates:  30 March - 13 April | 20 April - 4 May | 2 - 16 November | 23 November - 7 December with a reccy trip (usually 1 week) Jan/Feb 2019

Zimbabwe Country Manager

Though we began work in Zimbabwe in 2010, our current project began in 2012, partnering with the United Baptist Church in Muatre. For 20 years prior, the local authority were unable to build any new schools due to a lack of funding. In 2012, our 8-year campaign started to build a school here, Joshua Dhube School, with the aim of building 17 classrooms to educate over 1000 pupils. The project is well established and is a tangible representation of serving hearts and the love of God in action. With 2 years remaining at Joshua Dhube, we're looking for a new Country Manager to lead our summer volunteer teams with your own staff team to help bring this project to completion. You'll then be a vital role in helping to find a new project for the future!  2019 team dates:   27 July - 10 August | 17 August -31 August with a reccy trip (usually 1 week) Jan/Feb 2019
