Joining us last month, new Regional Manager, Chris Ducker, has been thrown in at the deep end, leading our first volunteer team in Moldova at the end of July.
This year, we embarked on a new project working with Ancora Salvării (translated as Salvation Anchor), a Christian non-profit organisation based in Balti, aimed at helping children and young people in need – especially those with a disability or chronic illness – regardless of race, religion or nationality. The team – a group from KPC Youth Minister – were tasked with the job of starting to clear the garden around the accommodation here to help make it fit-for-purpose for the children attending their summer camps – many with disabilities or learning difficulties and also erected a fence, making the area more secure.
Having previously lived and worked in Moldova for seven years, Chris volunteered to lead the teams for our 2019 campaign and will lead team two for the second half of August to continue the work started last month.
